Gouache on hand-pressed paper
Size with frame:55 x 75cms
Framed in gold
The mask paintings came about after I became fascinated by an image of conjoined twins that I came across in the British Museum archives. The mask-like conjoined faces became a symbol for identity and the different roles we play in life. The subject matter of the series in general is life, love, and loss. The genesis of this painting was the birth of a child, the title from a child’s book.
